East Side students excel in the arts

As school came to end this year, East Side
Elementary students delighted their family members and friends
with their annual music program and art show.

Third and fourth graders entertained everyone with
songs from “High School Musical,” including the “Start Spangled
Banner,” “Allegiance Rap,” “We’re All in this Together,” “Breakin’
Free,” “Getcha Head in the Game,” “Start of Something New,” “Bop
to the Top,” “Fabulous,” “You are the Music in Me,” and “What Time
Is It?” – and they enjoyed every minute of it. Directing the
program was East Side music teacher Lynn Holt.

Also while they were there, parents and other
guests enjoyed seeing the artwork their children had been doing
throughout the year. On display were artwork of self-portraits,
still life in pencil, weaving, masks, charcoal still life,
perspective drawings, dragon paintings, tempera pastel, and
painting in tints. Linda Mann is the East Side’s art teacher.
