Whiz Wednesday

Whiz Wednesday is back in full swing at HJH this semester. Students act as broadcasters to help promote academic achievement among all students. The program is a fun method for reinforcing TCAP skills. It starts in November and takes place on Wednesday mornings. It begins with a short video, which is broadcast on every classroom television. The short video is of the student broadcasters (selected through try-outs) portraying news reports. On the video they offer information and entertainment to motivate the students to want to read. Following the video, the student body is given a short reading passage with questions. Lastly, the students who answer all questions correctly will have the chance to win neat prizes.

This year’s broadcasters include Jamaica Bond, Tiara Boyd, Caleb Glidewell, Matthew Hooper, Aliceson Hobock, Angelica Jackson, Michelle Leal, Sarah Lewis, Molly McAdams, Morgan Marlar, Ashley Meyers, April Miller, Mary Drake Owen, Josh Perry, Emily Pugh, Billy Rapier, Marcea Start, Myesha Stone, Jasmine Taylor, Bria Thomas, Precious Walker, Cortez Williams, Shana Williams, Ciera Woods and Emily Wright.

Directing the program is HJH teacher Mindy Waddell.
