Radio and video classes visit Memphis Telecommunications Center

Members of the Haywood High School Career and Technical media concepts and electronic media classes traveled to Memphis in November to visit the Memphis Telecommunications Center. The Center houses the Memphis City Schools radio and television stations. Students in media classes all over Memphis go to the center as part of their coursework. Haywood High has its own radio station, WNWS Brownsville, 1520AM that is on the air from dawn until dusk throughout the school year. The local video classes produce several news shows each month that are aired on Channel I at the high school. Teachers for the HHS media classes are Sheri Richards and Rita Hathcock.
