receive the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association’s (TSSAA) A. F.
Bridges Awards for District 7/8. HHS Principal Robert Mitchell was named the
Principal of the Year, and HHS Athletic Director Jim Frazer was named Athletic
Director of the Year.
These men are being recognized for displaying the high ideals of integrity
and ethics and for the examples of citizenship and sportsmanship.
Veteran educator Robert Mitchell has been principal of Haywood High for 10
years. Also a long-time educator, Jim Frazier came to HHS in 2005 as assistant
principal and the athletic director. He is now principal at Anderson Early
Childhood Center, but continues his duties as athletic director.
These award announcements come on the heels of a recently received
notification from the TSSAA that HHS has been commended for receiving no
unsportsmanlike conduct penalties during the 2008-09.
Mr. Mitchell and Mr. Frazier will be recognized at a regional awards ceremony
on November 12 at University School of Jackson.
