East Side honors school board members

East Side Principals Tammie Canada and Yvette Blue
honored Haywood County School Board members during School Board
Appreciation Week in late January by placing signs in their yards
marking their service to the students in Haywood County. In
addition, the principals gave each board member a personalized
calendar and a “meal ticket” for two to have lunch or dinner at
the Kreme Kastle restaurant. Also as part of the week-long
celebration, East Side students wrote letters of appreciation to
school board members, and the students and staff signed a banner
of appreciation that was displayed at the board of education
central office. School Board members are Harold Garrett, Robbie
Jarrett-King, Pearlie Hess, Allen Currie, and Daniel Thornton.
