Students enjoy Celebration Day

On January 10, in an assembly for each grade in the
school gymnasium with guests attending, students were honored for
their first semester performance. They received recognition in all
subject areas for their grades and improvement and for good
conduct.

The following day, students enjoyed Celebration Day
as a result of “Excellent Conduct” for the third six week honor
roll and the first semester. Students who made the honor roll for
the 3rd six weeks were given the reward of playing on inflatables
in the school’s gymnasium. Some participated twice because of
their good performance and behavior in the classroom.
Breakfast with Santa

On Saturday, December 15, East Side Elementary
hosted its first Breakfast With Santa. All those who attended
enjoyed talking with jolly ‘ole Saint Nick as well as munching on
fruit, pastries and juice.

The highlight of the breakfast, for some, was
Santa’s elves. Mr. Jay, husband of Principal Tammie Canada,
portrayed Santa, and Mrs. Myoushi Cunningham, school secretary,
and Mrs. Sandra Meck served as his trusty elves. “We hope to make
this an annual event,” Principal Canada said.
