Haywood Schools receives energy grant from EESI

Haywood County Schools learned last week that it has received $31,350 in grant money from Tennessee’s Energy Efficient Schools Initiative funds to install energy efficient HVAC at East Side Elementary, according to Superintendent Marlon King.

He received the news from Ron Graham, Executive Director, EESI. “The General Assembly is recognized for the legislation that is assisting all school districts to become more energy efficient, resulting in lower operating costs and creating a healthier and safer learning environment,” Mr. Graham said.

Speaker Emeritus Jimmy Naifeh of the Tennessee House of Representatives said, “We are very proud that East Side Elementary was approved for the grant.”

“Kudos to Mr. Vincent Harvell, Haywood County Schools Chief Financial Officer, for securing this grant for our system,” Superintendent King said.
