Students benefit from “Intervention”

Interventionists at Haywood Elementary work with children in
small groups to insure that each student is proficient in grade
level skills. Mrs. Denise Pearson provides additional help to
students as well.
Start the day with breakfast!

These Haywood Elementary students know every day is a good day
when you start with a smile and a nutritious breakfast.
Haywood Elementary students smile for the camera

Haywood Elementary students smile for the camera from their new
classroom for the 2008-2009 school year. There are about 570
students at Haywood Elementary in first- and second-grade
classrooms. Principal Jean Wills said that the school’s successful
reading intervention program will be a priority again this year,
and she has more time allotted to helping children with their
reading skills. Haywood Elementary administrators, faculty and
staff will welcome everyone to its open house on August 26 from 6
to 7. The school is also displaying its purple Tomcat in the front
hall, thanks to the work of school art teacher Mary Marcantel.
