Superintendent King names assistant principals
In a press release on Thursday, May 7, Superintendent of Haywood County Schools
Marlon King named assistant principals as part of the 2009-2010 Leadership Team.
Among those appointments are:
With Principal Jim Frazier at Anderson Early Childhood Center, Cindy Smith, the
current system speech pathologist, will serve as assistant principal.
Joining appointed Haywood Elementary Principal Tracy Riddle as assistant
principal will be Stephen May, currently a teacher at Haywood Junior High.
Opal Hay, named principal at East Side Elementary for next year, will be joined
by Drayton Hawkins as her assistant principal. He is the current assistant
principal at Sunny Hill School.
Sandra Humphreys, now a teacher at Sunny Hill, was appointed to the position of
assistant principal with Mary Colling, who will be the principal at Sunny Hill
Elementary in the 2009-2010 school year.
Dorothy Bond, who will be the principal at Haywood Junior High next school year,
will be joined by Assistant Principal Jackie Whitten, who is now a teacher at
Sunny Hill School.
Joining HHS Principal Robert Mitchell at Haywood High School and Yvette Blue,
who was appointed as an assistant principal there, will be Assistant Principal
Larry Charles, former administrator in the Jackson-Madison County School System
and formerly a teacher in Memphis City Schools.
Superintendent King as not yet appointed the HHS Director of the Career and
Technical Division.
