HCEA hosts luncheon for new teachers

The Haywood County Education Association treated new teachers in the school system to lunch on July 31 at Lilie’s in Brownsville. HCEA President Suzie May made a presentation to the teachers about the teacher organization and invited them to join. Serving as vice-president of the organization is Kenneth Emerson; Pam Diebold is secretary, and Ida Coleman is treasurer. “It was the first time we had done this, but we hope to continue the tradition,” said Diebold. The HCEA is the local organization of the Tennessee Education Association and the National Education Association.
