The program was a little snaky …

Most Sunny Hill students enjoyed a program presented by Bob Tarter
of the National History Education Company as he shared with them
the world of reptiles. Among the animals that are cold-blooded,
egg-laying vertebrate, that the children saw were a pygmy frog, a
monitor lizard, a coral snake and a snapping turtle from
Tennessee. Oh, and let’s not forget this lovable pet, “Monty,” the
Bermise Python that is wrapped around Mr. Tarter.
Sunny Hill Fun night provides something for
everyone
The students who earned the privilege of
attending Fun Night at Sunny Hill School by keeping their grades
at a “C” or better and having no unsatisfactory conduct were
thrilled with the fun, food and entertainment the night provided.
There were games, inflatables, a cakewalk, a basketball game,
dancing and even fingernail painting for the girls. Some also
competed in several events making the night a double win-win
occasion. Principal Dorothy Bond holds this event annually to give
students an incentive to perform well academically.
Mr. Leigh's class goes "Around the world in 175
days"...

Sunny Hill social studies teacher Mike Leigh is
taking his students on a trip “around the world in 175 days” this
year. Their first stop was in Egypt, where they learned about the
culture and people there through their studies. Mr. Leigh also
shows the “passports” the students receive that helps them earn
points on their travels. The students will study the ancient
civilization of Mesopotamia next. Among other skills, they use
these studies to practice their creative writing when with words
they describe the sites and cultures about which they are
learning.
