SH staff honors principals

February was Principal Appreciation Month, so the Sunny Hill staff honored Ms. Colling and Ms. Humphreys by providing them with a quiet, stress-free luncheon catered by Backyard Barbecue. They also received a token of our appreciation.
 

Fun Night was fun!

 

 

Sunny Hill had Fun Night on February 19. The students who had good conduct and
made A’s, B’s, and C’s for the first semester of school got to attend. The students enjoyed face painting, Bingo, cake walk, inflatables, dancing, group pictures and concessions. We all had a great time!
 

Sunny Hill expresses School Board Appreciation

 

Sunny Hill had a luncheon for the school board members. David Letterman has the Top 10 on the Tonight Show, so we had Sunny Hill’s Top 10 duties of a school board member. The students read a funny version and a serious version. All of the “Top 10s” were submitted by the students.

 

Sunny Hill selects Anna B. Roberts Teacher of the Year


Mrs. Anna B. Roberts

Selected as the Sunny Hill School Teacher of the Year was Anna B. Roberts. Beginning her teaching career in 2001, Mrs. Roberts served as a fourth-grade teacher for six years before coming to Sunny Hill School to teach fifth-grade in 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education 1-6, from the University of Memphis.

Sunny Hill Principal Mary Colling said, “Mrs. Roberts is a very caring, dedicated teacher. She holds herself to the highest standard of excellence. We are really blessed to have her on our staff at Sunny Hill School.”

Mrs. Roberts is originally from Columbia, Missouri. She and her husband, Tim, who works for University of Tennessee Extension Service, have one daughter, Hannah, who is a freshman at Haywood High School. She enjoys reading, spending time with family, walking and traveling.

Happy Valentine’s Day at Sunny Hill!

Sunny Hill faculty and staff members were treated on Valentine’s Day by the PTO. They received treat bags filled with a poem and candy. Then PTO members made a poster of the poem and displayed it in the school’s conference room.

 

Sunny Hill congratulates best spellers

Sunny Hill School congratulated its Spelling Bee winners who went to the Board of Education to compete in the countywide Spelling Bee: Asia White, Alexis Policarpo, Quinton Douglas, Taylor Waddell, Brenden Perez-Perkins and Felescia Sanders.


 

SH Book Jam features “football”

 

Sunny Hill students enjoyed their second Book Jam on January 21, with a football theme. Students wore their team jerseys, and Mrs. Sharon Clark spoke to the students about all the different types of signs and how important they are.

 

SH Beta Club members enjoy Nashville trip

 

 

     

Sunny Hill School Beta Club members enjoyed a visit to ICE, featuring “A Charlie Brown Christmas” on a trip to Nashville on December 17. The exhibit was at Gaylord Opryland.
 

Mrs. Mitchell retires

   

Sunny Hill faculty, staff and students celebrated with Mrs. Alice Mitchell (second from right) on her retirement after teaching for 27-1/2 years. “Congratulations, Mrs. Mitchell!”
 

HHS TA’s share with Sunny Hill students

Members of the Haywood High School Teen Advisors chapter recently visited Sunny Hill School to talk to the students about peer pressure.
